Beatles expert, author & speaker.

I was born in Liverpool in 1949. I grew up on Merseyside and in the late 60s studied Law at the University of Liverpool. After I graduated in 1970 I decided on a career change and became a teacher. In 2004 I became the custodian of ‘Mendips’, John Lennon’s former home, in Woolton, Liverpool.

Since then I have won two awards for my work at Mendips, was part of the successful WBBC production company with Bob Harris & Trudie Myerscough-Harris who won a Sony Award for the BBC Radio 2 documentary ‘The Day John Met Paul’. I have written two books ‘The Songs The Beatles Gave Away’ and ‘PreFab!’. ‘PreFab!’, co-written with Colin Hanton, the original drummer in the Quarry Men, has since been made into a documentary film that was chosen for both the Florida Film Festival 2022 and the Cleveland Film Festival 2023.
